Child Safety Standards
Amour’s standards against Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation (CSAE).
Last updated: April 2026
Amour is an adults-only dating application operated by TurtleByte. We have zero tolerance for Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) and any form of child sexual abuse or exploitation (CSAE) on our platform. This document sets out the concrete standards, controls, and commitments we maintain to prevent, detect, remove, and report such content and conduct.
1. Zero-Tolerance Policy
Amour strictly prohibits:
- Any content that sexually exploits, abuses, or endangers a minor (a person under 18 years of age).
- Grooming, solicitation, sexualised communication with or about minors, or attempts to meet minors.
- Creating, uploading, sharing, requesting, or storing CSAM of any form, including AI-generated, cartoon, or stylised depictions.
- Any use of the service by anyone under 18. Amour is strictly 18+.
Violations result in immediate permanent ban, preservation of evidence, and reporting to law enforcement and relevant authorities as described below.
2. Age Assurance
Every Amour account must complete Aadhaar-based identity and age verification before the user can match, chat, or otherwise interact with other users. Aadhaar is the Government of India’s biometric identity system and is used here as a government-issued age and identity signal.
- Aadhaar verification is mandatory, not optional, for participating in the core product.
- Accounts that cannot be age-verified as 18+ are blocked from matching and messaging.
- We use perceptual hashing (pHash) and device/identity signals to detect duplicate or circumvention accounts attempting to bypass age checks.
3. Detection and Moderation
Amour uses a combination of automated and human moderation to detect CSAM and CSAE-related conduct:
- Automated image moderation on every uploaded photo using AWS Rekognition, including explicit-content and suggestive-minor classifiers. Photos flagged by the classifier are blocked from going live and escalated to human review.
- Perceptual hash (pHash) matching to detect re-uploads of previously banned content and duplicate accounts.
- Human moderation by our Trust & Safety team for any flagged content, reported user, or escalated signal.
- Proactive account review when multiple reports, verification failures, or risk signals accumulate on an account.
4. In-App Reporting
Every user profile and every chat conversation in the Amour app includes a “Report” action. Users can report suspected CSAE, suspected minors, or any policy violation with a reason and optional details. Reports are reviewed by our safety team, and reports relating to minors or CSAE are triaged at the highest priority.
Users can also report an issue, a suspected minor, or CSAE-related content directly to our safety team at any time by emailing safety@amour.turtlebyte.in.
5. Law-Enforcement Reporting
When we identify confirmed or strongly suspected CSAM or CSAE on Amour, we:
- Immediately remove the content and permanently ban the associated account and, where possible, the underlying device and identity.
- Preserve the content, account metadata, IP and device signals, and communication logs as evidence.
- Report to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) CyberTipline for matters with an international or US nexus.
- Report to India’s National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal (cybercrime.gov.in) and cooperate with Indian law enforcement as required under applicable law, including the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the POCSO Act, 2012.
- Respond to lawful requests and preservation orders from law enforcement in accordance with applicable Indian law and CERT-In directions.
6. Evidence and Data Retention
To support investigations, appeals, and law-enforcement cooperation, Amour retains safety-related data on a tiered basis:
- Safety-investigation data for standard accounts: up to 3 months after account anonymisation.
- Safety-investigation data for banned accounts: up to 2 years, as described in our Privacy Policy.
- User reports, bans, ban appeals, and report history: retained for the lifetime of the ban or dispute.
- Hashed, pseudonymised block and report linkage data (after user deletion): 90 days.
- Aadhaar verification attempts (pseudonymised after deletion, with PII stripped): account lifetime plus 3 months.
- System, network, and access logs (IP, timestamps): 180 days rolling, in line with CERT-In requirements.
- Admin action audit logs: retained indefinitely for compliance auditing.
- Account history: 3 years after account closure.
7. Governance and Training
CSAE response is owned by the TurtleByte Trust & Safety function. Our moderators are trained on CSAE indicators, grooming patterns, and evidence-preservation procedures. We review this standard, our classifiers, and our incident data on an ongoing basis and update our controls as new risks emerge.
